BIOGRAPHY
At high school, I was known as a percussionist- performing in our multiple
concert bands, our jazz band, and many extracurricular groups. These groups
included a pep band, run and organized by myself, and a pit orchestra where I
played keyboard as well as directed multiple rehearsals. In addition to these
school bands, I have been involved in multiple province wide ensembles. These
include the University of Alberta Honour Band, the Alberta Wind Symphony and the Northern Alberta
Junior Honour Band. On the national concert band stage, I have submitted an audition for the
National Youth Band, which resulted in a backup position that was halted due to COVID-19. In the
latter half of my high school career, I was elected as our Music Council President, which allowed me to represent all my music peers in a student council. In this role, I learnt valuable leadership and organizational skills, culminating in an online live-streamed fundraiser which raised our school music program close to $5000. These funds go towards instruments and experiences for students who go into my school after me.
I have represented the Edmonton Catholic Schools District (ECSD) in many ways, including being a percussionist for the ECSD Senior All City Band and Junior All City Band. In both of these groups, I held the position of section leader. In addition to these ensembles, I had been appointed to the ECSD All Star Jazz ensemble prior to COVID-19 suspending the event from taking place.
In post secondary, I hope to pursue an education in classical percussion. Having never formally studied an instrument classically, I hope to expand my knowledge by delving into a musical topic I have never explored before. I will be performing in the University Concert Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and the Edmonton Winds ensemble- all of which were a result of a successful audition. During post-secondary I will be studying percussion with Brian Jones, who is the former principal percussionist of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
Hi there! I am a multi-instrumentalist, performer and producer in the Edmonton music scene. Through my high school and in my post secondary experiences, I have grown to become a professional musician in the Alberta music scene.
